Pierre Vessigaud Saint Amour 2018
Pretty dark coloured for a Gamay with the typical translucent edges. Sweet and sour cherries along with red currant. Very clean nose with hints of Flintstone and dried plum. A warm and appealing nose. Medium full bodied, pleasant, well-polished texture. Starting out quite round, developing towards a freshness on the mid palate with nice flintstony sparkles. Elegant wine, a wonderful accompaniment for food like Ratatouille or cured meats.

Blaufränkisch «Kalk und Schiefer» – Nittnaus
The 2018 Blaufränkisch «Kalk und Schiefer» (lime stone and slate) opens up on the nose with notes of crisp cherries, some sweet, some sour, and a hint of sloe and cranberries. The fruit is accompanied by tart and earthy notes of beet, tree bark and undergrowth. The wine appears elegant, almost cool for this hot year, mineral and fine. On the palate, this wine also shows its mineral fresh and cool side with a lively acidity and a remarkable inner tension. Here, too, the earthy and slightly tart with a mellow tannin and a cherry-emphasized ripe and present fruit in the finale. This makes a fresh, precise and clear impression.

Olive Oil by COS – Extravergine
This olive oil is a very rare product of Sicilian natural wine pioneer COS. Typical aromas of tomatoes and pepper, accompanied by herbs and spices. Bright green color. Very persistent with a present, but not intrusive acidity. The olives are harvested by hand from very old «Tonda Iblea» trees in an area called “Chiaromonte Gulfi”. Some of Italy’s finest olive oils are regularly produced here. Same principles of organic and natural agriculture are applied here as with COS wines.

Highly aromatic nose, full of peaches, melons and ginger. Bolstered by a strong minerality and spicy notes. Exploding with a myriad of gustatory and textural facettes on the palette. All encompassed inside an extra fine mousseux. Lovely!

Domaine De Majas Rouge is our favourite red in the category "when in doubt". It has this very civilised wildness, without getting intrusively barny. Lovely sour cherries and hay aromas in the nose, solid freshness and nice acidity. Very food friendly and juicy.
